This week, May 2020, Facebook launched the Facebook Shop Page. It was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, where people can opt to shop online whilst staying safe at home.

How to create a Facebook Shop Page

1. First go to you Facebook business page.
2. By default Facebook business page has the SHOP tab in the left hand menu.
3. If the SHOP tab is not there, then click on settings, followed by Templates and Tabs.
4. Choose the Current Template as Shopping and the SHOP tab should now be displayed on the left hand menu of your Facebook Page.
5. Now click on the SHOP tab
6. Once you click you will be prompted with a pop-up which will explain the set-up. You need to click on the Get Started button to continue.
7. In the page a new pop-up will ask you for your business details. Once you have completed the details you can continue by clicking on Next.
8. The next page will ask you information related to where you pay your tax. You can skip this page, but will be asked for this information later.
9. Then you will be asked to indicate the type of products you intend to sell on Facebook.
10. You will be asked more information on taxes and also information about Business Representative which is likely to be your own information.
11. At the stage, most of the difficult stuff is ready and now you can finalize the setup of your store.
12. Now you need to advise the shipping options, return policy and customer service email.
You may also need to accept the Terms and Conditions but this is dependent on the account setup and also on the location.

What are the next steps?

The next step will guide you on how to configure payments, including linking your bank account and having the funds from your orders being deposited here. There are options for shops located internationally to use PayPal or Stripe.
1. The first pop-up guides you to input your tax details.
2. The next step is to link your bank account.

From now, Facebook will encourage you to add your first product. In order to do this, first you have click on ADD PRODUCT. The template for this is pretty simple. it will ask you for:
– Photos of product (or video)
– Name and description
– Price
– Inventory
– Shipping Options
– Share this product on your Page
– Visibility
