On June 6, 1998, at King Abdulaziz Air Base (Dhahran), No. 88 Squadron was made by Gen. Abdulaziz Henaidy, the Royal Saudi Air Force’s head of staff, who is sponsored by Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz (Minister of Defense and Aviation). The squadron is known as the “Saudi Hawks Aerobatic Team.” Flying BAE Hawk Mk.65 and 65A stream coaches, it is the Royal Saudi Air Force’s (RSAF) official show group. The Hawks appeared in January 1999 at Riyadh, the Saudi realm’s capital, as a major aspect of Saudi Arabia’s 100th commemoration festivities. Six smoke-competent BAE Hawk Mk.65A and three Mk.65s-all changed by BAE Systems are allocated to the group and now wear the group’s striking green and white exhibition hues. In February 2000, the Hawks originally showed up outside their country in Bahrain, flying out of Dhahran. Before long a while later, the group and the different RSAF Hawk squadrons moved to King Faisal Air Base (Tabuk) in northwestern Saudi Arabia. The group draws correlation with the RAF Red Arrows because of the comparable airplane.
