Besides being very popular for being the world’s largest online marketplace, it also focuses on cloud computing, digital streaming and artificial intelligence. Along with Google, Apple and Microsoft, it is considered one of the Big Four Tech Companies. It has around 798,000 employees.

History of Amazon

It was founded Seattle(USA) in July 1994 by Jeff Bezos.
Initially, it was an online marketplace for books.
Music and videos were being sold as from 1998.
The organisation started to sell video games, consumer electronics, home-improvement items, software, games, and toys as from 1999
Amazon Web Services (AWS) started in 2002.
During 2012 Kiva Systems was bought in order to automate its inventory-management business.
In the year 2015, it surpassed Walmart and became the most valuable retailer in the USA.
In 2017, it acquired Whole Foods Market for US$13.4 billion.
Bezos announced in 2018 that Amazon Prime had more than 100 million subscribers worldwide.
