People under quarantine can call 2141 1411 for anything they may need, including food. 

Latest news from Press Conference held on 26 March 2019 re COVID 19 Malta

Upon the recommendations of the health authorities, the Government of Malta announced more measures. This is being done with the target to reduce the spread of COVID19, and also to protect the most vulnerable.

The police have been empowered to disperse any group / gathering of more than five people found in the streets.

As from Saturday 28th March, people aged 65 years and older, and also those who suffer from specific medical conditions are being guided to stay at home whenever possible. This applies to the following:
– insulin dependant
– those on ‘biologicals’,
– have received chemotherapy in the past six months
– those who are on immunosuppression
– those who are on dialysis,
– pregnant women,
– those who have been treated for respiratory disease in the past year,
– those who had cardiac problems in the past six months
– those on oral steroids.
All affected people under 65 (above list) will be notified by post. The stay at home also applies to people who live with these vulnerable individuals.

There are circa 118,000 people in the above categories who fall under the category of employed. They will utilise the quarantine leave.
