Cyber Monday 2022 – 28th November

What is Cyber Monday?

This is the name given to the first Monday day that comes after Thanksgiving. This is the marketing term for this shopping spree that was created by retailers to encourage people shop online. The debut for this day goes back to the 28th November 2005. Today, Cyber Monday, is one of the biggest online shopping day of the year. It also happens three days after Black Friday.

Most of the time, Cyber Monday falls in November, but exceptionally it can fall in December. The range is from 26 November to 2 December. Practically, Cyber Monday is the online equivalent of Black Friday. It means that if you miss out Black Friday, you can still recover on Cyber Monday.

Last year, Cyber Monday 2021 was being held on 29th November.
This year it will be held on 28th November.

Where is Cyber Monday “celebrated”?

All began in the United States in 2005. However, since this is an online shopping event it can easily be extended to every country. In Canada it started in 2008. Since many Canadians watch American TV, the influence of Black Friday and Cyber Monday was easily spread. In Chile is started in 2011, whilst in Colombia in 2012. India have their very own version which was celebrated in 2012. In Japan, during 2012, Cyber Monday ran for one week (yes! seven days).

Cyber Monday also gained popularity in Europe. In Belgium this started in 2015. France introduced this way back in 2008. In Germany this was introduced by Amazon.de in 2010. Now it is celebrated for an eight day period. Whilst in Netherlands this was introduced in 2012.

There are other countries who also hold this day such as Portugal, Romania, Sweden, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

What to buy on Cyber Monday?

As long as the deals are very worth it, you can buy anything on Cyber Monday. You have to remember that this is for Online Shopping. Both big names and also small retailers participate in Cyber Monday. You can buy electronics, clothes, cameras, shoes, sport accessories. What every you like !
