2019 was another successful year in which Marisa Xuereb, Sponsor Ambassador for Beyond the Moon Malta, in collaboration with a number of local establishments, raised over €15,000 in aid of Beyond the Moon.  These included a Mother’s Day Fair held in May 2019 at  the MFCC in Ta’ Qali; an Extravaganza Night/Charity Auction in November 2019 at Corinthia Palace, and at The Perfect Christmas Gift Fair also held in November 2019 at Montekristo Estates. 

Beyond the Moon, a Belgian based non-profit making organisation offers families with a seriously sick child a cost-free dream holiday.  The funds raised last year cover the cost of a dream vacation for four Maltese families with a sick child.

The prevailing COVID-19 pandemic however, has so far in 2020 put fundraising initiatives for this cause on hold.   Family vacations have also had to be postponed until safer times.

Drastic times call for drastic measures and for thinking out of the box.  Whilst the popular Perfect Christmas Gift Fair will this year not be organised in a public setting, it will be moving online in a corona-free environment through a webshop.  This will bring together establishments and stall holders offering patrons the opportunity to buy their gifts  in the comfort and safety of their own home.  Products include luxury and classic gifts, unique artworks, handmade crafts and much much more.  A Facebook page and Instagram account has also been setup to support the webshop.

The Charity:

Beyond the Moon is an international charity based in Belgium that offers families with a seriously sick child, the opportunity to enjoy a cost-free dream vacation and make special memories in a relaxing environment far away from hospitals.  Since 2005, through the support of a number of established local partners which include Companies, Establishments and Foundations, over 100 Maltese Families with a sick child have benefited from a sponsored Beyond the Moon vacation.  The all-inclusive holiday in renowned travel destinations covers costs for the entire family including return travel, accommodation and meals, insurances, rides and even spending money.
