Facebook Avatar - How to create one

Last May, Facebook introduced its very own Avatar. Users can create Avatars through their Mobiles’s Facebook App. Once the Avatar is created, then this can be used on Facebook or Messenger as a sticker.

This feature will allow the users to create a cartoon-look-a-like version of themselves. These can be used as online stickers to send to others, or even to use as a profile picture. This is similar to Snapchat’s Bitmoji and to Apple’s Memoji feature.

How to create a Facebook Avatar

It is very easy to create an avatar. Having said that, it can only be created from the mobile app, using the Facebook app. On any other app, like Facebook Lite app, the avatar cannot be created.

Also, this Facebook Avatar feature is not available worldwide. It is available in United States, Australia, India and some other countries. However, some other countries still need to wait to have this feature on their mobile.

Please follow these steps

Open the Facebook app on your mobile. Kindly ensure that you are using the latest version of the Facebook app.

Tap on the three lines found on the top right hand side (the menu).

The Avatars feature will be displayed. Tap on Avatars.
If it is not listed, tap on ‘See More’.

Scroll further down to search for the “See More” option.

Tap on ‘See More’ option.

Now tap on ‘Avatars’ in order to open the Avatar program.

The Avatar program starts loading.

Once it loads, you can then tap on ‘Next’.

Here you start the process by selecting your skin tone.

After that, you will need to choose the hairstyle.

Now you need to continue by going through all the other features, one by one and choose accordingly.
In this particular step you need to choose the hairstyle.

Here you have to choose the colour of your hair.

Now you will need to choose the shape of your face.

In this step you will need to choose your complexion.

This option is for any visible lines on your face.

Here you have to choose the shape of your eyes.

And then the colour of your eyes.

You can also choose the eyebrows.

Now you have to choose how the mouth looks like.

And if you have moustache or not.

Finally, you can choose what you avatar will be wearing.

Tap on the final ‘Done’.
