These concerts feature various local and foreign artists with different genres of music from baroque to classical to contemporary. Date of Concert: Tuesday 28 January 2020 at 12:30pmName : Flamboyant Flamenco by Alejandro de ChacónVenue: St Catherine of Italy Church, Valletta Alejandro de Chacón Alejandro de Chacón Talented flamenco guitarist Alejandro de Chacón will be performing a number of popular flamenco guitar styles of music which are named mostly according to their derivation, namely Romance Anónim, Solea, Taranta, Minera, Alegría, Granaina and Buleria. Flamenco music is a professionalized art-form based on the folkloristic music traditions of Andalusia in southern Spain.Alejandro started his career at the tender age of 9 in the hands of Maestro Juan Mesa where he made him understand the forms and nature of the Flamenco guitar. Over the time, Alejandor continued to develop as he learned from Andalusian and foreign musicians. Through the International Guitar Festival of Cordoba he met and learned from great masters such as Manolo, Sanlucar, Ralph Towner, Sabas de Hoces and Larry Coriel. Alejandro also had the opportunity to accompany famous flamenco singers throughout Andalusia.
