Malta COVID-19 – press conference 16th October

During the press conference of 16th October 2020 related to COVID-19 in Malta, Prime Minister, Health Minister, Home Affairs Minister and Superintendent of Public Health announced new measures on the day that a record of 122 new cases were announced.

Some of the main interesting points from the press conference

As from Monday:

  • Face-masks mandatory in outdoor places and workplaces (from 17th October)
  • Bars and clubs will have to close at 11pm
  • Those suffering from respiratory conditions, and children under 3 years will be exempt from wearing a face-mask
  • An exempt will also be allowed if travelling alone in a private car, and whilst performing outdoor sports such as jogging and cycling. This also applies when lip reading is a necessity.
  • Students in primary school will also need to wear a face-mask whilst at school
  • In the first 6 days 75,000 people had taken the jab (for flu vaccine)

  1. Overhyped flu virus, sorry but I am not going to be wearing a mask in my office nor while walking outside.
