The Malta International Airport re-opened on 1st July to a number of destinations. On the 15th July, it extending the number of destinations. At that time there were minimal COVID19 active cases in Malta.
One and a half months later, the situation is completely different. Malta has 505 active cases. A number of countries are now banning Malta, or introducing a number of COVID19 travel restrictions to those travelling from Malta.

United Kingdom

Malta has been removed from the UK safe travel list. Those arriving in the UK on or after 15th August will have to quarantine for 14 days.

Belgium

Belgium has banned travel to and from Malta with the exception of cargo and repatriation.

Italy

All those arriving in Italy, must:
i) do a swab test within 48 hours and have to quarantine until the result is available (if negative test), OR
ii) provide a negative test result taken 72 hours before departure

Malta COVID19 – Please adhere to the following 3 principles

– keeping social distancing
– washing of hands, personal hygiene and hygiene in general
– wearing mask in places indicated by Health Authorities
