It is located at the very top of Rue D’Argens, where Gżira meets Sliema. At that time, it boasted unimaginable seafront views. The location where it stands is named for this hotel, i.e. Savoy. The rumours are that this historical hotel was bombed during World War II, but the bomb dropped by a parachute landed on a tree and did not explode. It was set on fire in the year 2019, and it is also said that this building is occupied by squatters. According to a decree given by the Civil Court on 8th August 2022, it will be sold in an auction. The auction is scheduled for the 13th September and the starting price is set at €2.8 million.
