Pixxina Naturali – Malta

Pixxina Naturali is a natural pool made of sea water. It is located in Qrendi and it is one of the most beautiful natural places in Malta. It can only be reached on foot. There are at least two different trails, one from Għar Lapsi and the other from the area of Ħaġar Qim megalithic temples. These trails are considered as moderate difficulty, and the walk is some 15 minutes long (considering that you can stop and admire the beautiful coastal scenery of this area).

Maximum caution is required if you are going to visit this place. The trails that lead to this beautiful Pixxina Naturali are not the easiest to walk. These trails are near the sea, and at parts are near the edge of a cliff. There might be a good number of stones in the way, and obviously if the terrain is wet, it might become very slippery. It is very recommended to use trekking shoes or any adequate footwear for such terrain. Please avoid sandals, flip-flops, and such footwear as these can only lead to injuries. Also this is not recommended to small children, persons with mobility issues, elderly people, or those who fear from heights (vertigo).

Pixxina Naturali

Most people walk by this place without noticing it. The reason is that there is a steep downhill trail which seems that it does not lead to anywhere and thus, the trail is ignored.

However, if you want to go to this beautiful place, you have to go down this trail. Needless to say that maximum caution should be exerted as one wrong step could lead to injuries, and also, you need to remember that you have to climb back (uphill).

Once you arrive at the bottom, you can see what mother nature has to offer. A small pool (inland sea) has formed between these cliffs. On off the cliffs is amazing, it is like someone did cut the cliff very cleanly. The sound of the water is so relaxing.
