Last year’s edition of The Malta International Folk Festival 2019 was a success. Thus, Leon Promotions Malta together with Euro Art Productions Italy are proud to present this year’s edition of the festival. The festival will take place during the last weekend of September 2019. The exact dates are Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September 2019.

The event will have the participation of no less than 17 folklore groups from the following countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, India, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia.

Madhavi & Group – Indian folk group based in Malta
Zornica Folk group – Bulgarian folk group based in Hungary
Paul Curmi Dancers from Malta
Heimatverein D`Vorberger Folk Group from Austria
Kud Dukat – Serbian folk group based in Malta
Folk dancing group “Känd ja Käbid” from Estonia
Mnarja Folk Group from Gozo, Malta
Associazione Culturale Gruppo Folk Fajiddi Enna from Italy
Balkan Hearth Folk Group – Bulgarian Folk Group based in Malta
Tantsuselts SÕLEKE folk group from Estonia
Jackson Pipes & Drums from Malta
Samylų Senolės Folk Group from Lithuania
Ta’ Ciangura Folk Group from Gozo, Malta
Ceiruleits Folklore Group from Latvia

The Festival will be held as follows:

Friday 27th September 2019

From 19.00 onwards at Bugibba Square

Saturday 28th September 2019

From 10.30 onwards along Valletta Streets
From 19.30 onwards at Zejtun Main Square as part of the Folk Festival Zejt iz-Zejtun

Sunday 29th September 2019

From 19.30 onwards at Spinola Bay, St. Julian’s

Other details

Various stands of local artisan works will be available at all the venues of the events.

All shows are free of charge and there will be also seating facilities (gratis).

The Malta International Folk Festival 2019 is being organised in collaboration with the Local Councils of:

Please watch this space as the same organizers are already preparing for the Malta International Christmas Choir Festival, where 20 foreign choirs together 9 local will be participating for the festival.
